The ‘mission promotion’ for Wrexham is going really well, as the club is significantly closer to achieving its dream. Ryan Reynolds’ side is contesting with archrival Notts County to get automatic promotion.

Ever since the league campaign kicked off, their focus has been on gaining promotion to the fourth division. They are enjoying everything, be it fame or glory. But with great power comes great responsibility, and it seems Wrexham’s responsibilities might increase if they go the distance. However, they might break all the odds, according to an expert.

While Wrexham is tussling to gain automatic promotion, the club must brace itself for what’s coming for them. Sure, they may enjoy all the good things that come with it, but they might face some issues. And Wrexham may tackle those issues easily, according to Kieran Maguire.

Recently, while speaking his mind on a fan-based podcast, “Fearless in Devotion,” the expert revealed a set of challenges the club may face. “And once they get to the EFL, I think there’s another set of issues because, under the National League rules, there’s not a financial fair play scenario that you have to deal with. So it does allow clubs to accelerate out of the National League.”

“We saw that with Salford City and Gary Neville’s group, and then you are operating at a different tier,” he added. However, Maguire feels things might be different for the Red Dragons, as he believes the club will be much more competitive.

“But I think Wrexham given the interest in the club and given the size of the attendances they’re generating would be well placed to be very competitive in League Two at the very least,” added Maguire. Either way, these challenges will ideally come if they go the distance, and it seems everything will be revealed when they’ll play their next exciting fixture.

All set for an emphatic clash

The winner of the National League will be declared tomorrow after the clash of the heavyweights. Wrexham and Notts County are set to battle in an exciting match tomorrow. Both are currently level at 100 points, but it’s the Notts who are leading the table thanks to the goal difference.

This came after Reynolds’ men suffered a tough blow, as they endured a shock loss against FC Halifax Town. Phil Parkinson’s side traveled to The Shay Stadium as they suffered a 3-1 loss against the home side. This was a huge setback in their title charge, as they have dropped points and leveled with their arch-nemesis. Nevertheless, they will be looking to register a win against the Notts and steal the throne from them.
