However, this has also raised questions on the future of forward Goncalo Ramos amid his poor form for Paris Saint Germain. It looks like Roberto Martinez knew the forward was going to have such an experience. But, he has praised the way the forward has handled it with his fighting spirit.

In an interview, he said, “No, it’s part of it. It’s part of the evolution; it’s part of the period that Gonçalo is living through. I like the fact that Gonçalo is willing to fight. He scored in the last game. It’s not easy. The PSG locker room is not easy, but it is part of your experience. And I think that after this season, Gonçalo Ramos will be a better player and help what we are trying to achieve.”

The comments by the 50-year-old manager come amid the January transfer rumors regarding the PSG forward. According to reports, the French giants are willing to sell the Portuguese forward for the right price. The 22-year-old has scored two goals in the last two French Cup games against lower-league sides. However, he has not managed a single contribution in the last six league games.

Hence, amid the January rumors, the questions about his long-term future with Paris Saint Germain. However, as far as the national team is concerned, his future at the moment remains secured under Roberto Martinez.

Martinez believes that the present and future star players can coexist in one team

The goal-scoring form of Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo has made it impossible for the Portuguese boss to drop him for Goncalo Ramos in the team. However, Roberto Martinez believes that talking about the situation does not make sense. He thinks that the duo has different qualities in the final third. Hence, they start games together.

He also used the example of the 3-2 win against Slovakia where both of them were on the scoresheet. Hence, it looks like Roberto Martinez is certainly sorted out with the selection of his forwards.
