Al Nassr came from behind to haunt Damac FC as Cristiano Ronaldo‘s team clinched their 7th win in the Saudi Pro League. Damac, who was leading 1-0 at half-time, was rocked by consecutive attacks in the second half. It was a hard-fought victory for the Knights of Najd. However, not all were concerned with the result. During the post-match celebrations, Al Nassr’s defensive duo had an altercation.

Soon after the start of the second half, Anderson Talisca equalized the score. Cristiano Ronaldo matched Talisca’s urgency as he scored a stunning free-kick in the 56th minute, sealing the win for his side.

Tensions built up soon for the Knights of Najd as Damac scored an early goal. Luis Castro and his players though were able to clinch a comeback win but the heat of the moment got the best of two of Al Nassr’s players. The two players snubbed the post-match celebration, as they got into a heated argument.

The two players involved in the fight were Abdulelah Al Amri (Centre Back) and Nawaf Al-Boushail (Right Back). The duo got into an argument citing their positional responsibility and gameplay. Abdul Al Amri got angry and refused to join the celebrations with the team.

Al Nassr are now undefeated in their last 12 fixtures. The title challengers still have some way to go to the top of the table. Currently, the team stands at the 3rd position with 22 points, 4 points behind league leaders Al Hilal. They have some crucial matches coming up on their fixture list.

Cristiano Ronaldo ended his seven-month free-kick drought with a bang as Al Nassr rallied from a 0-1 halftime deficit against Damac. In a stunning comeback by Luis Castro’s side, Talisca’s brilliant free-kick equalizer in the 52nd minute set the stage. Just five minutes later, the iconic Ronaldo stepped up and delivered another sublime free-kick, leaving the opposition keeper with no chance.

It’s been a while since Ronaldo’s last free-kick goal, which dates back to March 24, 2023, during a match between Portugal and Liechtenstein.

With the coaching change from Rudi Garcia to Luis Castro a few months ago, there’s a sense of renewed optimism in the team. Castro’s rapport with Ronaldo is evident, and he’s expressed his belief that Ronaldo may be in the later stages of his professional soccer career.
