1. Cole Palmer (Chelsea, £5.8m) vs. Liverpool (A)

The former Manchester City star has been running a riot in the league with nine goals and five assists. The player averages an impressive 7.5 points in 13 starts this season, which makes him a must-buy despite any opponent.

2. Erling Haaland (Manchester City, £13.9) vs. Burnley (H)

Even though Erling Haaland has almost recovered from injury, his inclusion becomes a no-brainer. After missing two months, the player still remains the top scorer in the league and is also placed 5th with the most points this season. Not having the talisman can cost managers, despite his uncertainty about the starting eleven.

3. Richarlison (Tottenham Hotspur, £7) vs. Brentford (H)

(Tottenham Hotspur) vs. Brentford (H) The Brazilian has made a comeback in form. He has the highest number of FPL points (49) in the last six game weeks, scoring in all the matches except versus Brighton. The 26-year-old can prove to be a good option until Son Heung-min returns.

4. Diogo Jota (Liverpool, £7.9m) vs. Chelsea (H)

The Portuguese international has always proved to be an efficient scorer in FPL. The player took excellent responsibility in the absence of Mohamed Salah, leading them with two goals and an assist in the last fixture.

5. Gabriel (Arsenal, £5m) vs. Nottingham Forest (A)

Yes, we have a defender as a fifth suggestion. The Brazilian has not been blocking heavily but has also surprised opponents with headers from set pieces for the national team. Additionally, one goal was taken off his account last game, but Gabriel has already scored two headers this season. However, his main strength would be in defense with clean sheets which will bode well for FPL players.

6. Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City, £10.6m) vs. vs. Burnley (H)

The master from Belgium made a magnificent comeback after his hamstring injury. In spite of not starting in the eleven, De Bruyne contributed with a match-winning goal and an assist against Newcastle United. Although doubtful of making it into the eleven, it’s always safe to keep the midfield maestro.

Players to Sell

  1. Martin Odegaard (Arsenal, £8.5m) vs. Nottingham Forest (A) The Norwegian Gunner has not scored in seven games and is averaging a goal and assist every five games. It would not be a bad time to leave the Arsenal captain before his value decreases even more.
  2. Julian Alvarez (Manchester City, £7.0m) vs. Burnley (H) Even though the fixture is considered to be an easy one for the treble winners, Haaland’s return can put Alvarez’s spot in jeopardy. Additionally, the player only scored twice in eleven games.
  3. Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa, £8.9m) vs. Newcastle United (H) The English striker has slowed down in the last few games, scoring just once in seven games. Considering a tough game versus Newcastle, teams can salvage £8.9 for bringing back Haaland or buying players like Matheus Cunha and Erling Haaland.

Captain

  1. Diogo Jota: Jota will play a more attacking role in Salah’s absence. The player, with his form and the support of the home crowd, will prove a good option as a captain.
  2. Richarlison: Apart from Richarlison’s form, the fixture versus the 14th-place Brentford will give him ample chances to score. With the home crowd backing him, it doesn’t seem like a bad option.

FPL Players to keep

  1. Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United, £8.1m) vs. Bournemouth (H) The player did not score in the last two games, but Bowen is expected to come back in form at any time and could be against Bournemouth at home. Hence, a little patience with him can help.
  2. Darwin Nunez (Liverpool, £7.4m) vs. Chelsea (H) The player has started to look dangerous with three goals and an assist in the last three games. This, coupled with the dependence of the attack on him, can be productive.

One take at a time

Growing up in a sporting background, I found a passion for soccer through the remarkable 2002 World Cup-winning Brazilian football team. Watching the Premier League where Thierry Henry-starring ‘Invincible’ Gunners and Sir Alex Ferguson’s glorious Manchester United had ruled, I had my heart set on Arsenal. However, Ronaldo Nazario, Rivaldo, and Ronaldinho are my favorite players and Lionel Messi is the GOAT.
