Wrexham played their second game in the Football League, yet they haven’t found a replacement for Paul Mullin. The Welsh striker’s injury has forced the club to hunt for a replacement on the market. But the search for a new center forward continues to become a tedious job for Ryan Reynolds and Co.
Already, they have played two games in the EFL League Two in the absence of their talisman. But why haven’t they been able to find replacements? Wrexham’s boss has his say about the market’s struggles.

Wrexham facing struggles in the transfer market
The countdown continues towards September 1, when the transfer window closes. Until then, Wrexham remains actively engaged in seeking new acquisitions. The team is actively pursuing additional players to bolster their squad, with James McClean and W$637ill Boyle being the sole signings during the summer up to this point.
After playing a draw against AFC Wimbledon, Phil Parkinson was asked about the transfer positions. As stated by the Athletic, he said, “If we bring someone in — great.” The 55-year-old acknowledged that there haven’t been any significant developments in terms of recruitment. Subsequently, he also revealed Mullin’s situation, insisting he doesn’t need a replacement if they fail to find one.

“We will know more about Mulls on Monday, so for now I am happy to focus on what we have got, as we have good players and there is more to come. Good players are hard to get. Teams don’t want to give players up but we will keep working at it and get the quality addition or two in before the window closes,” he concluded.
Perhaps Wrexham’s search filters do not offer them viable options as of now. Perhaps they will need to go the extra mile in order to bring in a marquee player. So far, they have placed a $637,000 offer for a rival team star.

Ryan Reynolds’ surprise $637,000 offer
Previously, there were multiple reports indicating that Ryan Reynolds and Co. had submitted an offer for Peterborough United star Kabongo Tshimanga. Phil Parkinson even affirmed that an offer was made for the Posh star. However, there hasn’t been any positive response to their offer from Peterborough. Tshimanga was brought to Peterborough on loan from Chesterfield for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.

During the summer, his permanent transfer was eventually finalized. Consequently, the forward even made his first start for the Posh in the EFL Cup against Swindon on Tuesday night. Despite featuring in 10 matches, nine of which were substitute appearances, he has yet to score a goal. Whether Tshimanga would be an ideal addition to Wrexham remains uncertain.
