Melchiot also talked about the effectiveness of this tactic. He said, “He (Henry) was so clever and away from being good but also very clever try to get into your head and if he gets in your head, he knew I have him and he did not care if you were his friend. If you were his friend he wanted to embarrass you even more.” Moreover, Melchiot revealed that trash-talking was never his style and that he preferred to play the game on the pitch.
Regardless of his insinuating tactics, Thierry Henry could walk the talk on the pitch. The two-time Premier League champion was among the inaugural inductees into the Premier League Hall of Fame in 2021. Yet, he was quite modest when discussing his trash-talking abilities.
