This year’s summer transfer window officially came to an end last night, and so did the Kylian Mbappe-Real Madrid saga. The future of the Frenchman was up in the air for the past few months, but now he stays put at Parc des Princes. Despite a mammoth offer from Al Hilal, Madrid was the frontrunner for Mbappe. Los Blancos might have been ready for an all-in deal, but their head coach denied making financial sacrifices.

Interestingly, in the last few hours, developments have occurred surrounding both parties. While Mbappe dropped a cryptic bomb, the Real Madrid boss admitted he wouldn’t lower his salary to get the PSG star.

Obtaining a precious goal demands the willingness to forfeit everything. Perhaps this doesn’t apply in the case of Carlo Ancelloti. There have been instances where the whole team was forced to tighten their belts in order to attain what was needed. Notably, Madrid’s arch-rival Barcelona is the biggest example.

But it seems Ancelloti isn’t interested in doing any of that. This comes after a journalist asked the Italian coach if he would lower his salary to see Mbappé at Real Madrid. Interestingly, the 64-year-old had his answer: “I don’t see what the reduction in my salary has to do with Mbappe. I will not talk about Mbappe because he is a PSG player and we respect all players and clubs.”

Clearly, the former Bayern Munich tactician isn’t willing to sacrifice his salary for the World Cup winner. Indeed, it is a huge claim from Ancelloti. Earlier, the gaffer also made a huge claim regarding Mbappe that for them, their transfer window has officially closed, thus, putting all the rumors to bed.

And now, the manager made another eyebrow-raising claim. Surely, Mbappe won’t be happy to hear this. But more than that his domestic side PSG would be displeased after seeing the Frenchman’s social media antics.

Mbappe’s enigmatic social media activity

Earlier, Mbappe shared an Instagram story featuring the song ‘Special’ by Dave in collaboration with Tiakola. This wasn’t just a random post of a catchy song; the lyrics held a deeper meaning. The song contains notable lines like, “I am a Top Boy, an expensive signing like Moisés Caicedo in London.” What’s intriguing is that the song’s lyrics mention Chelsea signing Moises Caicedo for a record-breaking transfer fee of $145.8 million, marking a significant moment for the English club.

Additionally, Caicedo’s role as a defensive midfielder is expected to be pivotal for Chelsea’s success this season. Similarly, if Mbappe were to move to Madrid, it would be a landmark deal for the club, especially after the departure of Karim Benzema. Certainly, Mbappe intended to convey a message, which surely would have unsettled PSG. But it’s too late as the window is closed.
