While Novak Djokovic continues to win titles, Rafael Nadal is currently nursing his hip injury. He is out of action following a surgery and looks to make a comeback for the next season. One of his close friends in tennis, David Ferrer, revealed his dream to make a comeback for the 2024 Davis Cup. Yet, Djokovic handed a blow to those plans as Spain knocked them out. Meanwhile, Argentina won their Davis Cup qualifiers against Lithuania, and the players hit the Lionel Messi celebration. 

Tennis and soccer come to life together these days as players are celebrating the Messi way in recent times. With most players mimicking Cristiano Ronaldo’s Siuu celebration, the Black Panther celebration by Messi is making rounds on the internet. Thus, two Argentinean tennis players showcased just why.

After the match, tennis players Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni defeated Tadas Babelis and Edas Butvilas in a penultimate match. Apart from the sensational points, the talking point of the game turned out to be the Black Panther celebration at the end. They stood together with their arms across the chest, paying homage to Wakanda forever! Recently, Messi has celebrated with Marvel celebrations as he did with Spiderman and Thor.

It’s trending for the nature of the celebration, and other players are doing the same. Gonzalez talked about the celebration and outlined the reasons behind its origin. Gonzalez discussed, “We celebrated like an alien, from what he told us, and Messi was just celebrating the Marvel movies. That week Thor’s came out, and we won the tournament. In Cincinnati, we did the Black Panther one, and we won. So I’m going to watch Messi to see what he does.”

As Argentina won the match, they will schedule the next stage of the draw in February. But one team that won’t face the Argentineans is Spain. With Nadal hoping for a comeback to the tournament, Djokovic ran riot on the Spanish contenders.

Djokovic ends Nadal’s hopes of coming back for Davis Cup

The Serbinator, fresh from the US Open title, made light work of Alejandro Davidovich by defeating him 6-3 6-4 in Valencia. Former tennis player David Ferrer discussed how Nadal wished to come back for the Davis Cup in a conversation they had. Ferrer stated, “Yes, but he wants to play the Davis Cup final this year. First, we have to qualify, of course, but for me, it would be incredible.”

With Nadal nursing his injury, one can expect him to get back to winning ways. He is one of the best players in the world, and for the ultimate comeback king to bow out like that is unlike him. Just like Lionel Messi, tennis deserves a Rafael Nadal comeback.
