Gerard Pique recently shared a cryptic message on X (formerly known as Twitter). While it may come across as mysterious, the Barcelona fanbase might just know what the retired defender is referring to. He has yet to share any sort of clarity on the same.

After their breakup, the former couple filled their social media accounts with a series of mysterious messages. Now, it’s Pique who is at the center of attention for posting yet another head-scratching message.

Pique has a lot on his plate. He might be busy enjoying the mystic views of the Croatian ocean. However, the former FC Barcelona player also received some bad news regarding his businesses. As of now, the Kosmos owner is in the limelight for a rather peculiar reason. This time, he is at center stage for his eyebrow-raising social media activity.

Apparently, Pique, out of nowhere, fired up his Twitter, now called X and wrote a cryptic message. In the message, he didn’t write a single word. Rather, he just posted a whale emoji. Certainly, it is quite a confusing tweet, as many can’t seem to understand the motive behind his cryptic message. Pique’s tweet has somehow caused havoc among the netizens as well, who are busy figuring out the reason.

Nevertheless, it’s obvious that his tweet is regarding someone. Perhaps it could be about his former love of his life, Shakira. Yet, there isn’t any concrete evidence. However, if we dig deeper, there’s a greater reason for his message. We reckon it might be about his former FC Barcelona teammate, Ferran Torres!

Is the cryptic message for Ferran Torres?

A shark. Barca fans, ring any bells? To give you clear context, Pique’s tweet with a shark emoji could be for none other than his former FC Barcelona teammate Ferran Torres. Since the beginning of the season, Torres has acknowledged himself as a shark. He even started doing a shark celebration whenever he scored goals. Interestingly, just moments ago, he shared an Instagram story, where he wore a shark hat. In the caption, aside from a shark emoji, he wrote, “Coming back home. Tomorrow, there will be more.”

These words came after the winger came off the bench and scored a brace in Spain’s 6-0 victory over Cyprus. Hence, Pique could have posted this shark emoji for Torres. The former Manchester City forward considers this year a redemption season, as he kicked off the 23/24 campaign in high spirits. Perhaps he has the acknowledgment of his club’s legendary defender.
