The Chicago Cubs’ recent win against the Minnesota Twins was undoubtedly a breather for shortstop Dansby Swanson. Swanson has encountered numerous roadblocks throughout the season. After the game, though, Swanson was more ecstatic about the USWNT and his wife Mallory’s run at the Paris Olympics than Chicago’s big win. Dansby candidly admitted that his wife Mallory Swanson’s heroics in Paris have rendered him emotional and even brought him to tears.
Mallory Swanson scored thrice in Team USA’s group campaign at the Olympics and has been at the center of its attack in the knockout stages as well. Her partner couldn’t be prouder, he says.
“The amount of times she’s pretty much made me cry over the last two weeks watching her is pretty ridiculous. Just so proud of her journey that she’s been on ever since we got here together,” said Dansby Swanson.

Unsurprisingly, Dansby Swanson is showing up as Mallory’s biggest cheerleader. Similar to the Cubs star who always keeps an eye on Mallory Swanson’s games, she makes sure to show up at the Diamond and cheer her beau. The USWNT striker once found time between her busy schedule and rushed to support the Cubs star during a game against the White Sox.
Quite the couple goals the soccer star and the MLB star have been rendering their fans with. What’s more? Dansby Swanson gave out a touching message for his wife, as she gears up for Team USA’s first gold medal game in 12 years.
Dansby assures to do whatever to help Mallory Swanson before the gold medal game
After opening up about the emotional effect of his wife’s success, Dansby Swanson stated that Mallory’s heroics inspired him. “It’s just so inspirational,” Dansby said. He assured that he had no problem traveling and providing the best support for Mallory Swanson’s gold medal game.
“I’m so thankful to be a part of it and to do all that I can to help her from afar. Whatever it is, I’ll do,” Dansby Swanson added.

“It’s just so amazing watching the person you love the most do something that they love and chasing a dream and do it with the beauty and grace she does it with,” the Cubs star concluded his sweet message to the Chicago Red Stars ace.
Team USA’s frontline is the talk of the town in soccer circles, thanks to their Olympic heroics. When Swanson bagged three goals in the group stage, Trinity Rodman and Sophia Smith showed up big at the knockouts. And coach Emma Hayes believes Mallory Swanson is the ‘connecting’ factor in Team USA’s star-packed front line.
