Lately, it has become increasingly popular for celebrities and sports stars to venture into investing in sports teams. Just like Ryan Reynolds or Serena Williams, JJ Watt, and his wife also made a significant investment in a Premier League club. The couple recently announced their partnership with the English soccer club Burnley FC.

The new owners are eager to wear their owner caps and begin making important decisions. Of course, their inclusion brings financial stability to the club, which would, in turn, impact their performance during the transfer windows. Speaking of transfers, Watt himself teased a $120 million transfer on social media.

While the news of Watt’s investment in Burnley brought joy to the fans, his recent social media activity has sent them into a frenzy. This comes after Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr posted a story of his home gym. In the photo, a jersey of Watt can be seen on Vini’s home gym wall. This story was reposted by Men in Blazer on Instagram.

While adding the story, they also tagged both Vinicius and Watt and wrote, “@vinijr Big NFL guy.” The story buzzed Watt’s phone, which enticed the NFL star to give a teasing reply. The 34-year-old reposted the story with a cheeky caption. He wrote, “I am not at liberty to discuss our transfer window plans.”

Indeed, it was a cheeky taunt from the Houston star as he teased Vinicius’ transfer to Burnley. Although the Brazilian has been linked with several clubs, it seems Burnley has also become another potential suitor. However, it’s unlikely the player will go anywhere, as Madrid is keen to keep him at the Bernabeu for the long haul.

As for Watt, the NFL star did it on purpose. While bringing Vini is almost impossible, that won’t stop him from making new additions. In fact, he’ll be looking to make his investment worthwhile.

Set for a new adventure with Burnley

Having faced relegation from the Premier League last year, Burnley has achieved a triumphant return to the top division of English soccer. The Clarets secured promotion with the guidance of their coach, Vincent Kompany. The former Manchester City star managed to successfully lead his team back to the prestigious league.

Kompany’s team is now focused on putting together a strong performance in the upcoming Premier League season. Their main objective will be to avoid relegation and compete for a European spot. Additionally, they have a busy summer ahead as they aim to strengthen their squad through new signings. The team is determined to make effective use of Watt’s financial investment in order to strive for success.
