Messi, who is a brand ambassador to Saudi Arabia Tourism, will be a massive signing for the Saudi Pro League, with the rivalry between him and Cristiano Ronaldo reigniting. However, the Al-Tai FC president took a dig at the World Cup winner for his recent Champions League performance.

Saudi Arabian club President won’t sign Lionel Messi

Saudi Pro League club Al-Tai’s president was on Saudi Arabian TV Channel SBC recently. When asked about Messi, Turki Al-Dabaan said, “I do not want to sign a world-class player in my team who is saturated and watches the match from the stadium like Messi in front of Bayern Munich.”

Al-Dabaan was unimpressed with the performance of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League round of 16. Bayern emerged 3-0 winners over two legs, and star-studded PSG wasn’t able to score a single goal. PSG signed Messi in their pursuit of the Champions League but was eliminated from the round of 16 in both seasons with Messi in the team.
