Real Madrid already has made a significant move in the January transfer window. They have secured the future of their manager, Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian manager has rejected the proposal of the Brazil national team. However, it has led to uncertainty about the next coach of Seleção. The Los Blancos manager has also joked about the national federation not being satisfied.

Carlo’s new contract extension now means the La Liga giants are fully prepared for their long-term future. It also shows how highly rated and respected is the Italian manager among fans, players, and owners. Yet, Ancelotti took a dig at Brazil’s federation after not taking up the national team manager role.

The Real Madrid manager was in a joyous mood as he attended his first press conference after signing a contract extension with the club. Nonetheless, the Los Blancos manager wasted no time finding the humor in the situation. Talking about the possibility of becoming Brazil’s manager in the future, he jokingly said, “Thinking about being Brazil NT’s manager is obviously exciting but I don’t think they will want me in 2026 (laughs). I think they’re not happy with me.” 

Carlo further thanked the national team federation for approaching him for the role. However, he revealed that his priority was always Real Madrid.

It will be now interesting to see who becomes the permanent manager of the Brazil national team. Fernando Diniz, as the interim manager, was not working out well for the national team. The defeats in the World Cup qualifiers, especially against Argentina, are the recent examples. Hence, the managerial situation still could change ahead of the upcoming Copa America tournament commencing in June. 

As for Brazil’s chances in the Copa America, the team is already under pressure as they are without the star player Neymar. As far as Carlo Ancelotti is concerned, he will also have significant decisions to be made for the second half of the season. The Italian manager will have a tough challenge in the second half of the season.

Real Madrid is currently top of the league with 45 points on goal difference, with Girona, also on the same points. Their arch-rivals Barcelona remain seven points behind in the fourth position. However, this title race is not at all finished at the moment. It is because Madrid currently has an injury crisis in the defense, and Rudiger is the only recognized center-back.
