Cristiano Ronaldo has a special skill when it comes to convincing his former teammates to join Al Nassr. Stories have it that Alex Telles and Otavio gave in to Ronaldo’s persuasion and joined the Saudi League outfit. However, CR7’s persuasion skills failed spectacularly against his former Real Madrid skipper Nacho Fernandes earlier, as he snubbed Al Nassr and teased potential moves to Al Ittihad and the MLS. Shattering an Al Nassr switch, Nacho just completed a move to Al Nassr’s newly promoted Saudi League rival Al Qadsiah, the club announced Thursday.
As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Nacho joined Al Qadsiah on a two-year deal as a free agent. “The decision of leaving Real Madrid is the toughest of my life. I told the club many months ago, I had doubts then… but I’m happy for what we did, I’ve nothing left to win with Real Madrid,” Nacho said in a recent press conference after completing his Al Qadsiah move.
It is uncertain how much salary Nacho will receive when he begins the Saudi League campaign with Al Qadsiah. Anyhow, signing a 6x Champions League winner like Nacho as a free agent is the best deal for a newly promoted side.

Al Qadsiah confirmed Nacho’s deal after he underwent medical examinations from Germany while on national duty with Spain in the UEFA Euros. Notably, Al Qadsiah is coached by Spanish international Michel, allowing Nacho to unite with a fellow compatriot in Saudi Arabia. Al Nassr will perhaps be watching the news of the Real Madrid legends Al Qadsiah move in sheer agony. This is because the Knights of Najd, its front office, and Cristiano Ronaldo himself went the extra mile in vain to get Nacho’s signature.

Inside Cristiano Ronaldo’s failed attempt to reunite with Nacho
As per the Spanish publication Marca, Cristiano Ronaldo personally called Nacho, inviting him to join Al Nassr. Besides, former Real Madrid star Fernando Hierro, currently working as Al Nassr’s director, chimed in and did his best to convince Nacho. However, both efforts went in vain as the former Real Madrid skipper told the Al Nassr entourage he was interested in joining the MLS. Speaking of MLS, rumor mills immediately linked Nacho to Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami, which happens to be the marquee Major League Soccer club, at the moment.

Anyhow, Nacho later quashed the MLS rumors and reignited Saudi links by talking to the Al Ittihad entourage. But when things came to a logical conclusion, Ronaldo, Messi, and Karim Benzema lost a chance to pair with Nacho. Real Madrid’s one of the most decorated players will help Al Qadsiah establish itself in the Saudi Pro League after finishing top of the first-division league last season.
