Zlatan Ibrahimovic is widely regarded as one of the most remarkable players soccer has ever witnessed. Whether it’s rocket headers, free-kicks, or volleys, the 6’5 striker has consistently dominated on the pitch. Additionally, Ibra is known for his unapologetic and self-centered attitude. His unique personality once again surfaced, this time in a rather humble manner.

Interestingly, the Swedish player recently sat for an exclusive interview with renowned British broadcaster Piers Morgan. During the interview, he was asked where he places himself in the list of all-time great soccer players. After clarifying whether the distinction pertains to collective or individual awards, he said, “Just the skill, without winning anything, I think I’m the best. Without joking. I’m the most complete player that ever exits. Skills and all this.”

He continued by admitting his failure to win the Golden Ball or the UCL, insisting if these things matter, then he doesn’t see himself on that list. “I had the honor and luck to win 24 trophies and collective trophies; some individual, because the individual comes with the collective. If the collective does good, then the individual will do good. But when we talk about only the players, the ability, no, I think…100%. No joking,” he concluded.

While it might come across as another typical statement from Ibrahimovic, he has clearly outlined the basis upon which he asserts his claim as the ‘GOAT’. Yet, it’s quite an interesting viewpoint put forward by the retired 42-year-old. Meanwhile, let’s dive deeper to look at his illustrious soccer career.
