Soccer stars, just like the rest of us, can also slip up on their diets. After all, they’re humans too. But to everyone’s shock, a surprise name has come up to reveal his dietary indulgences. This time, it’s none other than Erling Haaland. In a recent podcast interview on Men in Blazers with the host Roger Bennett, the Norwegian shared his unhealthy eating habits alongside his Manchester City teammate Jack Grealish.

Interestingly, the host first revealed Grealish’s surprising post-match meal, which includes wings, Singapore chow mein, salt and pepper prawns and chicken, egg fried rice, and curry sauce. While acknowledging Haaland as a ‘cow’s hearts and milk kind of guy’, the host asked the striker if he ever accompanied the Englishman with takeout food while bringing a ‘you only live once’ approach.

Surprisingly, Erling Haaland replied, “Normally I eat food at home but some special occasions, I order something. There was once when Jack came down to me with some food and I was really happy and really appreciated it. So it happens, I eat some not-so-healthy food but normally I try to keep it healthy.”

Indeed, it is quite a surprise revelation from the Norwegian superstar. Certainly, his manager, Pep Guardiola, won’t be impressed with it. However, does his quality on the pitch warrant an exception being made? Speaking of which, Haaland’s stint with Pep Guardiola and Co. was recently torn apart while being likened to his gameplay with his former side.

Erling Haaland’s tenure with Pep Guardiola ripped while comparing his former side

A former Premier League player recently voiced criticism regarding Haaland’s performance at Manchester City. On ESPN, Stewart Robinson remarked, “Manchester City prefers a short-passing game, moving through the lines, and utilizing wide areas for crosses, which aligns with his goal-scoring abilities. However, I believe his overall gameplay at Man City has been less impressive than it was at Borussia Dortmund”.

Robinson wants the lethal striker to initiate runs from deeper positions due to his strength and physicality. While commending Haaland’s performance at Dortmund rather than at Manchester City, Stewart also noted a deficiency in Haaland’s involvement in defensive aspects. He suggested that Haaland needs to contribute more to the defensive part of the play. A few fascinating claims for sure.
