Wrexham influenced a broadcasting deal?

Sky Sports has just signed a five-year deal with EFL to start a new broadcasting service to be able to broadcast 1000+ matches. Sky Sports will be banking on the massively hyped and fan-favorite Welsh club joining the league. According to reports, the broadcasting titans will be looking to achieve and broadcast the most matches broadcasted in the 2023-24 season.

Talking about an eye-watering 1.26 billion dollars deal, EFL chief executive Trevor Birch said, “The EFL is an iconic sports property and one of the biggest and best attended leagues in European football. This increased investment and coverage from Sky Sports will showcase much more of our compelling match action to fans, while delivering record rights values as we seek to make our clubs sustainable at all levels.”
