Mischievous Liverpool Fans Set Fireworks Outside Spanish Giants Real Madrid’s Hotel Ahead of Their Crucial Game

Spanish giants and reigning champions Real Madrid will play at Anfield on Tuesday in the round of 16 game of the Champions League. It will be a rematch of the last season’s final between Los Blancos and Liverpool. Meanwhile, Liverpool fans disturbed their rivals by setting firecrackers outside their hotel at 2 am on the match day.
Both the clubs are having a mixed season so far. Real Madrid is eight points behind its arch-rivals in La Liga. On the other hand, Liverpool is 19 points adrift of the league leader, Arsenal. Liverpool had a disastrous start to the season and will hope to turn the tables against the Los Blancos with injury concerns.

Liverpool fans give a loud welcome to Real Madrid
Real Madrid arrived on Monday in Liverpool. Carlo Ancelotti’s men are staying in the Innside Liverpool Hotel and saw Liverpool fans setting fireworks near the hotel in the early hours of Tuesday. They intended to disturb the Madrid players. Only time will tell how the act of Liverpool fans goes with the 14X Champions League winners.

It was not the first time the Merseyside fans did this. Back in 2019, when FC Barcelona visited Anfield, they also met with the same fate. Later that night, Liverpool went on to win 4-0 and complete an incredible comeback after going down 3-1 at Camp Nou. The English giants went on to win the competition that season.

The red fans lit the fireworks right outside the entrance of the building and lasted for more than 30 seconds. It is not a rare scenario, though. They are famous for bouncing back from adverse situations when most won’t expect them to do.

Real Madrid’s star striker Benzema is coming back from an injury scare in the game. They rested him at the weekend against Osasuna. Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez also suffered a shoulder injury at the weekend, and the reds are sweating it out for his fitness.
Madrid midfielders Toni Kroos and Aurelien Tchouameni withdraw at the last moments because of the flu. On the other hand, the Merseyside club will be without Thiago Alcantara and Luis Diaz. Both teams come into the game on the back of a victory. It will be a cracking game between the two giants with Champions League quarter-final place at stake.
