Ole Gunnar Solksjaer signed Cristiano Ronaldo in what could have been a fairytale. The Norwegian manager, however, was sacked soon after. After tensions with the current manager of United, Erik Ten Hag, Ronaldo also left for Al Nassr in a $500 million move last season. Solskjaer, who has both managed and played with Ronaldo, had the opportunity to join CR7 in the Saudi Pro League.
Ronaldo left the club soon after Erik Ten Hag became the new head coach of Manchester United, citing differences in opinion. The two parties agreed to a mutual termination of his contract after the Portuguese gave a controversial interview to Piers Morgan.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s former manager has no interest in the Saudi Pro League
Manchester United sacked Ole Gunnar Solksjaer after an underwhelming season in which they lost to Villareal on penalties in the Europa League finals. The manager was soon replaced with caretaker manager, Ralf Rangnick. In an interview with the Athletic, Ole speaks about the recent offers he received from Saudi Arabia and why he didn’t wish to pursue it.
Ole confirms that the rumors of receiving Saudi offers are true as he says, “Yes, and I’ve had offers. Most recently, two from Saudi Arabia. My best mate, who is also my agent, sifts through them. If you’ve managed Man United, you put your own criteria about what you want to work with.”
The former United manager further explains what he is looking for as he said, “I love England and the Premier League. Even the Championship feels stronger than ever, but I don’t feel bound to England. Maybe a different challenge where I need to experience a new culture and learn a new language.
