Real Madrid has restarted the season after the World Cup break below par. They are struggling to kill the games with their usual incisiveness and look distorted on the pitch. However, this week Los Blancos got a long-awaited win away at Villarreal. Although fans celebrated the triumph, many were unhappy that their player attended an NBA game instead of a Copa del Rey round of 16 fixture.

Aurelien Tchouameni, who is out injured, was in Paris attending an NBA game between Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons. The French midfielder has issued an apology for the same on social media and will hope to return to soccer action soon. Aurelien Tchouameni apologizes for attending an NBA game

Tchouameni is out with a muscle injury for the second time this season. The midfielder hasn’t featured since the 9th of this month and has already missed four crucial games, including Spanish Super Cup final against Barcelona. Since his move from AS Monaco, the player has established himself as a vital part of the midfield.

His absence has affected the club, who looks distorted in the middle without the French midfielder. Amidst his recovery from the injury, the player took time off and traveled to Paris to attend an NBA game. It was the same day when Los Blancos were visiting La Ceramica to take on Villarreal for a place in the Copa del Rey quarterfinal. The Madridistas weren’t happy with the act of the player.

Tchouameni soon took to social media and apologized, saying“I apologize to the club, the coaching staff, my teammates and Real Madrid’s fan base for attending an event while a lot was at stake for us in La Copa. I paid attention to what was happening in Villarreal at all times, but I didn’t do the right thing. I’m truly sorry.”

The 22-year-old is looking forward to returning to action soon with fixtures getting congested and the club needs squad depth. However, Los Blancos will hope to build upon the morale-boosting victory against Villarreal after completing a comeback.

Real Madrid gets a much-awaited win at La Ceramica

Los Blancos were winless away to Villarreal since 2017 and was on the verge of another loss. Villarreal started the Copa round of 16 clash on the front foot and was comfortably ahead 2-0 at the break.
