Liverpool‘s past might have come back to haunt them at the most unexpected time. Jurgen Klopp and his men were caught off-guard during the first half of the ongoing clash against Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s men bagged the opening goal of the game with a stunning goal as Kevin De Bruyne produced a picture-perfect corner, allowing John Stones to tap the ball into the net at the near post.
The goal was very much reminiscent of Liverpool’s iconic Champions League goal against Barcelona, with Trent Alexander Arnold producing a quick corner to help Divock Origi catch Barcelona defenders off-guard and find a stunning goal. However, this time it was Manchester City who reversed the script on Liverpool, converting with a ‘Corner Taken Quickly.’
The goal also comes in the week where Liverpool star Trent Alexander Arnold has been the talk of the town following his recent comments on Manchester City. The Reds defender stated in an interview before the game that the Premier League win means more to his side, while City is just a machine built to win titles.
