Be it the senior team or the youth squad, USA’s men’s team seems to be the biggest headache for the US Soccer Federation. Just weeks after the USMNT crashed out of the US-hosted Copa America in the group stage, its U-23 team embarrassingly humbled out of the Paris Olympics in the quarter-finals. Morocco’s thumping 4-0 win against the US Men’s youth team proves the USSF has miles to go on the international stage.

Team USA’s players cut a helpless figure against Morocco led by PSG superstar Achraf Hakimi. USMNT players committed back-to-back mistakes and none of them went unpunished, as Morocco scored two goals in each half. On the back of this dismal Olympic campaign, the USMNT and the USSF are receiving the hairdryer treatment from fans.

It is unsure if the USSF would sack Marko Mitrovic for his premature Olympic exit, especially considering the lackluster show against Morocco. But fans suggest it is high time the USSF officials sacked themselves!

I speak for everyone when I say, everyone at @ussoccer please resign,” a user on X wrote in response to the USMNT’s post about their Olympic exit.

Two birds with one slingshot. Yet again, the USSF is taking the biggest blame.

With this Olympic exit, the USMNT has lost the last chance to thoroughly entertain its fans at a major tournament. Even the senior team does not have a great chance to showcase their grit, as only a couple of friendly games await Christian Pulisic and Co. this year. Besides, the USMNT’s senior and youth squad’s poor showing in the Copa and the Olympics cast a shadow on the USMNT’s 2026 World Cup prospects. The upcoming World Cup again is a US-hosted tournament, in which they should avoid embarrassment at any cost.
