The expectations fans have on Real Madrid are monumental. Even an edgy draw or a loss can lead them to scrutiny for not being up to the mark. Known to have the soccer side of the Avengers, the club always fights back, even in demanding situations. Even though the club won yesterday’s game, a pundit criticized Jude Bellingham for a mediocre performance in a previous match.

The new players coming to Madrid have a substantial burden to keep up with the pace and expectations of the club. Jude Bellingham has lived up to those expectations by scoring goals for fun. However, the pundits questioned the Spanish soccer giant’s ability to showcase those performances in high-pressure games.

Real Madrid acquired the Borussia Dortmund star swiftly after he chose the club without a fuss. The player already scored 11 goals and created three assists in 12 appearances this season. However, the pundits criticized Bellingham for being under par against Atletico Madrid last month. Even though he was appreciated for his nonchalance, Craig Burley has called out Real Madrid and Bellingham.

Burley said, “They’re all big games (referring to El Clasico), but in the Madrid Derby, not just him but his team and Bellingham were quiet. Pretty poor in that big game.”

Los Blancos lost the game 3-1 to Diego Simeone’s juggernauts, where they did not have many answers. Therefore, Burley was pressing on the need to perform in such big games, especially in the upcoming El Clasico this Saturday. Additionally, the Madrid team had an average performance in their league game against Sevilla.

The pundits expect the 19-year-old and Real Madrid to perform well on such occasions to set a higher standard in the future. The team will go into their La Liga match against Barcelona, who are still unbeaten this season. Although the Blaugrana ranks third on the table, their gritty run this season can offer them a psychological advantage.

It’s Jude’s time to shine!

Despite all the scrutiny, fans cannot undermine Bellingham and Madrid’s performances this season. The team won its third consecutive UCL match against Braga yesterday as the English star scored the winner, yet again. But Burley remains unimpressed. He continued, “Spain focuses a lot on how you perform in the big Elite matches. Yes. That is where the fans look for you to make a difference. All eyes go on to this young man who has been sensational to see if he has a bandstorming game on Saturday or whether he has a quiet game.”

Real Madrid will go into this game without the services of Karim Benzema. The Al Ittihad star played a crucial role in El Clasicos, scoring eleven goals in the contest. However, the Madrid team will go to Barcelona with an in-form Vinicius Junior and Bellingham duo to boost their psych. Can Bellingham show his worth?
