Wrexham AFC owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney witnessed the madness of soccer on Saturday. It was a nervy ending to the game between Wrexham AFC and Aldershot Town, where the club won the game with almost the last kick of the game. The custodians of the club ended with hilarious reactions after the game.

From the reactions of the two, it seemed like they were anxious toward the end of the game as Wrexham threw away the lead in the 89th minute to an own goal. However, in the 96th minute, substitute Sam Dalby made sure the club secured all three crucial points in the fierce title race relieving the owners.

Wrexham came into the game in second place behind title rivals Notts County needing three points to keep up with the leaders. They meant business as their star striker, Paul Mullin, scored twice inside 23 minutes to give a comfortable lead. However, Aldershot hit back with a 30th-minute goal. But Wrexham soon restored the two-goal cushion after five minutes with an own goal.

Aldershot scored again four minutes later, setting up a great second half. It looked like Wrexham was destined to win 3-2 but only to concede in the 89th minute to an own goal from Jordan Tunnicliffe. Substitute Sam Dalby had other plans as he netted a 96th-minute winner when Wrexham looked to drop points again.

It was a roller coaster ride not only for the fans but for the owners, too. The A-listers were not able to hide their anxiety, as seen from their Twitter messages. The Deadpool star tweeted, “Really testing the limits of appropriate drinking hours. Dear god,” sharing his excitement about getting three points.

McElhenney, too, shared how relieved he was during the game. He tweeted, “I very may well die of a cardiac event this season. Football is magic/hell.” It looks like the owners are enjoying the road to promotion this season. Their primary aim is to get promoted to the Football League, and the club is on the right track. Although the title race is close, Notts County is not ready to give up very soon.

Notts County leads Wrexham by five points in the Vanarama National League. Meanwhile, Wrexham has played two fewer games than the leaders and potentially can go a point clear of them if they win both the games in hand. The title race is going to the wire for sure, and it will be another enthralling season for the Hollywood owners.

The winners of the Vanarama National League get promoted to League Two. While the playoffs decide which other club gets a promotion. National League has two spots for promotion to League Two. Wrexham, after missing out on last season, is determined to secure promotion this year. But they have an enthralling title race ahead, and only time will tell where they finish.
