Wrexham’s journey to League One wasn’t just about soccer success—it also strengthened the bond between its Hollywood owners. As Rob McElhenney puts it, he and Ryan Reynolds are on the same page regarding their vision to foster a culture that begins right from the club’s owners. Since they strive together for this vision, the friendship between the two is in a great place. Some are even surprised why McElhenney speaks so highly about his equation with Reynolds. It’s because Reynolds has infamously snubbed McElhenney’s cameo from the Deadpool vs Wolverine movie.

In a recent conversation, Rob McElhenney said that his relationship with Ryan Reynolds as they continues to evolve in the right direction. “Our relationship continues to evolve we started the conversation talking about Phil and the players and then Humphrey and if you notice there is a very there is a very common through line um through our entire experience I think we believe that one of our responsibilities is to create and Foster a culture that we believe starts from the top down,” said Rob McElhenney during his recent appearance on the Men in Blazers podcast.

Soon, McElhenney was hilariously asked why he is all positive about his equation with Reynolds after he cut out McElhenney’s cameo in the latest Deadpool movie. “Yeah I’ve got something planned for him don’t worry about that,” McElhenney said in response, warning Reynolds to be ready for a payback for the movie snub.

It’d be quite intriguing to see how McElhenney pulls the Wrexham co-owner’s legs. Ryan Reynolds anyhow played it nicely by calling McElhenney his darling and editing out his cameo in the Deadpool vs Wolverine film.

Ryan Reynolds sparkled his humor after cutting Rob McElhenney’s portion from his film

Wrexham striker Paul Mullin is still going gaga over his cameo in the Deadpool vs Wolverine film. After scoring in Wrexham’s last night’s 2-1 win over Salford City, Mullin donned a Deadpool mask, nodding to his own cameo as the Welsh Deadpool in the film. Rob McElhenny could have had the same privilege. But Reynolds after astute intervention from the film’s editors had to strip the former off the movie feature.

“A word on my “darling” friend, @robmcelhenney. Rob very kindly did a cameo in #DeadpoolAndWolverine which will hopefully live on in the digital extras. While editing a movie, they say you “Sometimes have to kill your darlings.” And with a heavy heart (and through great outside intervention) I had to kill a darling with this cameo,” Reynolds wrote in an Instagram post.

Now that McElhenney has also stirred the pot by saying he is planning on a payback, let’s see what comes next from this series of endless theatrics from the Hollywood duo.
