It has been months since Cristiano Ronaldo made his big-money move to Al Nassr. After a poor 2022 World Cup and a bitter exit from Manchester United, the striker went to Saudi Arabia to make a fresh start for the new year. The 38-year-old left a lot of things behind to start a new phase of life.

Among those things was also parting ways with his agent, Jorge Mendes. Regarded as one of the best agents, both parted ways with each other following his move to the Middle East. While they are not together anymore, both are in contact with each other. In fact, Mendes recently had some heartwarming words to say to his best friend.

Former agent hails ‘explosive’ Cristiano Ronaldo

During the CNID gala, Mendes recently spoke about his relationship with Ronaldo. As stated by the Portuguese newspaper Record, the agent had some kind words for them. “Cristiano will always be in my heart. He is a special player and person for me. If I thought, years ago, that I could have a player with half of his value, I would sign under.”

He said all the “Portuguese should be proud of having a player like him,” while continuously praising the striker. “I’ve always said it and I’ll say it again: he was and is the best in history, the best in the world, even compared to others.” Mendes defended CR7, saying it wasn’t only his “strength and work”, but also that he was “virtuous and explosive.”
