For its hilarious plot, the show has gained immense popularity. So much popularity that it ended up having the veteran soccer manager, Pep Guardiola, on their show. Notably, the 3rd season of the show has been premiering since March 15.

With the same idea, they gave the current Manchester City manager a cameo. In fact, the legendary manager also opened up about his surprise appearance.

The appearance of Pep Guardiola in Ted Lasso was a crossover no one expected. The Spanish coach appeared in the 12th episode of the program. Interestingly, Guardiola is also fond of the series, and he is happy with the chance to play a part in it. In fact, he recently opened up about his role. “Yeah, Ted Lasso needs people like me to make a show better so that they’ll have success,” he said.

“As a family, we’re a big, big fan. So my little daughter, Valentina and my wife, we enjoy a lot to watch the show. We are a big fan, especially the first season.” When asked about appearing alongside Jason Sudeikis, Guardiola said, “And when they offered a cameo, I said “why not?” and I could meet the actors.” Also, he said a few actors even came during an actual Premier League game, “We talk again and was nice.”

Further, in the episode, Guardiola’s City faces Lasso’s AFC Richmond, who are in contention for the title, at the Etihad Stadium. City is considered the favorite to win the league with only a few games remaining. However, a victory for Lasso’s team would bring them closer to their own championship hopes.

In an exciting turn of events and incredible gameplay, Richmond emerges triumphant with a 2-0 win. Guardiola approached Lasso on the sideline for the customary handshake and even had a surprising conversation. It’s followed by Lasso and his fellow coach, fanboying over the brilliant coach. Fans are now waiting for Lasso to play his final match in the series. Meanwhile, many netizens are displeased with the expensive streaming of the show!
