Team USA’s women’s relay and women’s soccer team have encountered similar obstacles during the Paris Olympics. Sha’Carri Richardson and Co. beat Germany by a second to clinch the top spot in the semi-finals. Likewise, the USWNT beat Germany by a goal to clinch a spot in the gold medal game against Brazil. Enhancing this storyline, USWNT’s superstar forwards, Trinity Rodman and Mallory Swanson showered their love on track events and track athletes competing in Paris. Rodman even rated track as the second-best Olympic event, after soccer, unsurprisingly.

Trinity Rodman believes her mother would blame her for not venturing into track events. Meanwhile, Swanson ran track as a high school student. No wonder they are the biggest cheerleaders of Sha’Carri Richardson, Noah Lyles, and other U.S. track athletes.

Then, it was Mallory Swanson’s turn to detail how much she loved the track events. “I feel like, for me, personally, I ran track early on. Like in middle school,” said Swanson, she added, “It’s been fun to follow. I think all those athletes are so inspirational. It’s super powerful because of the work that they do. You see them run around and compete at such a high level. O my gosh I could never do that.”
