The players of Feyenoord sealed a sensational title victory after 18 years to send the fans into a frenzy. The Eredivisie is a league where soccer clubs like Ajax and PSV dominate. But, the Dutch outfit shocked fans to claim the title in 1999. Just like many other clubs, they cannot believe what happened, and the club is celebrating for days.
In addition, all Feyenoord players will receive personalized Championship rings in a move similar to the NBA. When an NBA team wins the title, they gift all the players personalized rings, remembering their achievements in the season.
This move made fans delighted, and many commented on how soccer is turning its approach to taking one out of NBA’s playbook. Therefore, fans took to social media to voice out their opinions. Most of them are in favor of the novel approach.

Fans react to soccer players getting personalized NBA-like rings
One fan stated how soccer is trying to be like the NBA. The fan commented, “Football wanna be NBA so bad.” Another fan also got into the conversation by celebrating the newly adopted policy by the soccer club. The fan stated, “One of the American traditions that I’d actually quite like to be more mainstream in football I think they’re class.” It is one of the oldest American traditions which the European sport is new to. It could be something for the players to take back home, unlike the trophy.

Ngl I feel like them and medals should both exist cuz they serve different purposes you can’t wear a medal and it feels cooler when there’s a trophy celebration to wear a medal

This should be normalised across leagues. UCL too.
— Michael Balogun💀 (@Mikebal) May 27, 2023
More teams need to start doing this.
I remember Drogba doing it for his Chelsea team mates when they won the UCL.

This should be mainstream in football

Another fan pointed out the same idea. The fan commented, “Ngl I feel like them and medals should both exist cuz they serve different purposes. You can’t wear a medal and it feels cooler when there’s a trophy celebration to wear a medal.” One fan wanted the medals to be replaced by rings. The fan stated, “Football teams should have been doing this long ago already… Much better than a winners medal.”
