“Want to Honor” – Despite Cut-Throat Rivalry, Wrexham’s Classy Owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Set to Jet Off to Wembley to ‘Root’ for Notts County

Wrexham AFC brought glamour to the Vanarama National League after the Hollywood takeover. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney made massive efforts to bring recognition to the club and the community. This season’s league title race was enticing, and their fierce rivals gave them a run for their money. 

Notts County was the favorite at one point to win the league. But the Red Dragons beat them in an important game and won the title, grabbing the automatic promotion place. Despite a stellar season, County had to play in the playoffs and will be playing the final at Wembley to decide their promotion fate.

The Red Dragons’ captain recently shared a massive update showing the classy side of the club owners. 

Wrexham owners will cheer for the rivals

Wrexham players got a grand celebration party from the Hollywood owners in Vegas for earning promotion to League Two. Players are enjoying their outings in the US. On the other hand, Notts County is fighting off the competition in the promotion playoffs and will play the final on Saturday against Chesterfield at Wembley. 

As per Wrexham captain Ben Tozer, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are ready to take off to London at the weekend to cheer for their rivals. Reynolds and McElhenney rooted for County to get the promotion despite giving a tough fight to Wrexham for the title. After getting a promotion, Reynolds wanted Notts County to win the playoffs for a place in League Two.

Ben Tozer said“I know a few of lads who play for both teams actually. I might be going to the game on Saturday. Rob who was out there with us, he took the time to stay up to watch the games. In fact, I believe him and Ryan are flying over to watch the game on Saturday. That’s something they want to honour. We are genuinely all rooting for Notts County because of the way they pushed us this season and we think they’re the ones who deserve it,” speaking to TalkSports.

Can Notts County make it to League Two?

County finished the season four points behind Wrexham. They did create a record for the most goals in a single National League season but weren’t able to win the title. Meanwhile, they made it to the playoffs semifinal after finishing second in the table. Notts County beat Boreham Wood 3-2 to make a place in the playoffs final.

They will play at historic Wembley Stadium in London against Chesterfield this weekend. County will rely on their top scorer and National League Golden Boot winner Macaulay Langstaff in the final against Chesterfield. They will also get support from their rival owners for the promotion decider. Whether Notts County beats Chesterfield on Saturday remains to be seen.
