But, later, Chelsea claimed that they had agreed on a move with his agents and the player himself. In the end in the 2006 transfer window, the Blues resolved the issue by agreeing to a 4 million deal with Lyn and a 12 million fee with Red Devils.

Sir Alex Ferguson tried to convince John Obi-Mikel to stay with the Red Devils. However, he wanted only a move to Chelsea. Now in an interview with Rio Ferdinand, John has revealed the confrontation from Ferguson. I said, “Sorry gaffer, I can’t play here. I want to go to Chelsea”. He went absolutely red, walked out of the meeting, and said, “You are going to regret this” and just left.
