Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami Teammate Silences Patrick Mahomes Trolls With ‘One of the Greatest’ Praise

Inter Miami ended their last week on a high note with a victory against Sporting Kansas City. While the match outcome drew attention, the headlines were dominated by the brief greeting exchanges between Lionel Messi and Patrick Mahomes. However, the part-owner of KC found himself targeted by online trolls following his encounter with La Pulga. In a remarkable turn of events, Messi’s teammate, Benjamin Cremaschi, has decisively hit back at the mockery by pledging an alliance with Mahomes.

The youngster took charge of the press conference today and didn’t hesitate to heap praise on the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback. When asked about his meeting with the NFL star, Cremaschi stated, “He [Patrick Mahomes] is one of the best athletes in the world.” Notably, before the match, aside from meeting Messi, Mahomes interacted with a few Miami stars and clicked pictures, with Cremaschi being one of them. While it’s good to see the 19-year-old meet his favorite athlete, his claim may have backfired on his club’s faithful.

Earlier, the video of Messi and Mahomes meeting each other took no time to go viral on the internet. While the majority of fans were happy with the interaction, others were trolling the Chiefs star with many comments like, “Messi doesn’t even know who he is.” However, with Cremaschi candidly heaping praise over Mahomes, it must have left those trolls eating humble pie. Nevertheless, it is the teenage superstar’s opinion of the NFL star that has nothing to do with Messi. After all, Mahomes himself was awestruck by the Argentinian superstar’s performance.

Even though Sporting Kansas City lost 2-3 at Arrowhead Stadium, Patrick Mahomes left no stone unturned in heaping praise over his rival side’s star player. In one of the pressers, he said, “As far as Messi, I mean just it’s awesome man. To see the guy at the top of any league in the entire world.” Mahomes’ recognition for the Miami skipper didn’t end there as he revealed how the 36-year-old single-handedly impacted his side’s win.

“You saw certain spots he had he wasn’t marked. And when he got free he made stuff happen with the pass that he made, with the vision he had. Then the goal that he scored. It shows you what it is like to be at the top of the top playing in any profession,” concluded Mahomes. Clearly, Messi was successful in his mission of not just helping Tata Martino and Co. clinch victory but also impressing Mahomes.
