After coming inches close to promotion last season, Wrexham AFC has finally done it this season. They didn’t leave the chances of promotion on converting playoffs. Phil Parkinson and company were determined to get the automatic promotion, and not only did they get the title, but the Red Dragons also broke several records doing that. Owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney were in the stadium, joined by Paul ‘the Ant-man’ Rudd watching their team dominate Boreham Wood.

This 3-1 victory has sealed the fate of the title and the automatic promotion, as Wrexham got 4 points lead over Notts County with just one match remaining. Witnessing this win many renowned personalities congratulated the Wrexham owner. 

Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds was “Blacked out” from the thrill. He and Rob McElhenney came down celebrated with the team, and at the end raised the National League trophy in their Home Stadium. The owners couldn’t have asked for more of a fairy tale.

After the league and promotion-winning match, Ryan Reynolds posted a reel on his Instagram account. In its caption, he wrote, “Rob and I kinda blacked out during this moment, but somehow we’ll never forget it.” This reel has attracted reactions and comments from some big and well-known names from the sports and Hollywood world.

NFL legend Tom Brady had one of the earliest comments. He wrote, “The thrill of victory. Congratulations!“. Reynolds’ upcoming co-star ‘The Wolverine’ Hugh Jackman, wrote, “Absolutely Epic“. Breaking Bad mega star Aaron Paul also couldn’t keep himself from congratulating the champions, he wrote, “So damn epic“.
