Ajax are known for their beautiful kits, and the Dutch club surpassed expectations again this season. While their home kits still adorn the classic red and white, they wowed their fans with a beautiful away kit with blue and black stripes.

Several clubs have released their third kits in the past week (including the infamous Puma third kits), and Ajax was the latest to do so. However, they decided to go for something different this time around. They decided to pay homage to music legend Bob Marley.

Marley’s song “Three Little Birds” is a popular fan anthem among the Ajax faithful, and the new jersey is a beautiful tribute to it. A primarily black shirt with green, yellow, and red details, the jersey features three colorful birds on the back.

Ajax fans started singing the song when they traveled to Wales to face Cardiff City in a preseason friendly. The fans were asked to remain inside the stadium after the final whistle and were entertained by a DJ. “Three Little Birds” was a great hit with the fans and is sung till date.

Marley was a great fan of football too. His daughter, Cedella, spoke about Ajax’s tribute and shared her love for the sport. “I am beyond touched that Ajax has taken Three Little Birds and made it their anthem,” she said.
