FC Barcelona are in the middle of a transitional phase right now. The departure of Lionel Messi triggered one of the worst collapses in the club’s history as they dropped down to the Europa League and will end the season without winning a single trophy.

However, there are several bright spots for the club in this rather forgettable season, with the appointment of Xavi as the club’s manager being one of them. The club legend has done a fantastic job in steadying the ship after a disastrous start to the season.

The club’s youngsters are doing well and Xavi has even managed to resurrect Ousmane Dembele’s form. However, the club’s financial struggles haven’t ended yet and, as a result, they have no choice but to sell a few players. One of the players to go first could be goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Manchester City and Manchester United have registered their interest in the player and his transfer fee could go as high as $80m. It’ll be interesting to see if the departures stop here at Barcelona, as given their financial situation, they might need to sell more players.
