Rudiger is prepared to leave Chelsea on a free transfer, as talks of a new contract had broken down several months ago. The German international has been happy at the club under Thomas Tuchel, but his future does not belong at the club.

Now that his contract is expiring, clubs would be able to sign the defender for free. The prospect of signing a player of that caliber for no money at all is one that no big club wants to ignore. As a result, Real Madrid and Manchester United are both trying to sign him, but according to Romano, there’s a clear favorite.
