Pele, now 81, and has been suffering from a few health issues, for a while. The Brazilian legend revealed the details of his illness in an Instagram post where he talked about his chemotherapy sessions. He attended his last session of 2021 and wanted to celebrate with his fans on Instagram.

“I’m going to stay here for a few days”- Pele said

Friends, since September 30th, when I left the hospital, you know that I have been having small chemotherapy sessions as part of my treatment. Today I’m at Albert Einstein doing the last session of 2021. I wanted to share this achievement with you,” the caption said.

Pele revealed that he’ll undergo some more examinations, and jokingly reassured his fans that he’ll be staying on Earth for a few more days.

Interestingly, in a show of support, Cristiano Ronaldo commented on the post and sent his strength to the legendary footballer. Pele also thanked Ronaldo for his wishes, showing that there’s a lot of camaraderie between the two superstars.

Pele has always taken interest in Ronaldo, and has called him the best player in the world on multiple occasions. While Pele has also said the same about Lionel Messi, his relationship with Ronaldo has been exceptionally stellar.
