Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably one of the best players ever to have played the game of football. After dominating the game in teams like Manchester United and Real Madrid, the Portuguese wanted a new challenge.

A move to Juventus came calling. Juve who had made it all the way to the Champions League Finals in 2017, were optimistic that the Portuguese was the missing piece for them to win European silverware.

While Ronaldo continued to be one of the most prolific scorers for the club, a lack of a good supporting cast meant that Juve never made it past the quarters and Cristiano in turn grew frustrated.

Clearly frustrated with the lack of success, the 5-time Ballon D’or winner was on his way out of the Italian giants. This was clear when Ronaldo only made an appearance as a substitute against Udinese.

Over the past few days, Ronaldo’s intentions became clearer. After manager Massimiliano Allegri confirmed the news of Ronaldo leaving Juventus, Ronaldo was seen visiting the training sessions of the Bianconeri.

Considering his stature many would expect an emotional departure. But Ronaldo reportedly spent only about 40 minutes with the his Juve teammates before leaving the training center and understandably didn’t train.

This move is certainly has some massive implications. While Juventus do reduce their wage bill significantly, they lose out on significant goal output. Chipping in with 101 goals in 134 appearances, Ronaldo was a goal-scoring machine.

As for Ronaldo, he will be joining back his home team in Manchester United. United were truly the team who transformed Cristiano from a young star to one of the best to ever play the game. Given how electrifying his impact was, expect an Old Trafford buzzing the Portuguese’s welcome back to the club.
