There are very few footballers in the world who can entertain fans more than Dani Alves does. The Brazilian right-back has a plying style filled with panache and flair, and the man can still do it all at the age of 39. Playing for FC Barcelona this season, Alves has truly mesmerized the club’s fans.

The Brazilian holds the record for winning the most trophies out of all footballers with 46. He has won every single major trophy with every club he has played for. However, the one thing missing from his vast trophy cabinet is the World Cup trophy.

Alves will try to fill that void this year when the World Cup in Qatar rolls around. It’s quite certainly his last world cup for his nation, as the 39-year-old doesn’t have many years left at the top.

Alves is also the subject of a documentary that FIFA is releasing on their new streaming service, FIFA+. The six-part series is called “Dani Crazy Dream” and reveals several interesting facts about the great defender.

In one episode of the series, Alves visits Brazilian legend Cafu’s home to motivate himself for the World Cup. Cafu has a replica of the World Cup trophy, and Alves was seen holding it closely and looking at it longingly.

“I think different from most of the other players and people who believe that it is bad luck to touch the replica of the trophy. I believe just the opposite. So I have to start a relationship with the trophy,” Dani Alves said.

The Brazilian didn’t stop there and said that he would do anything to win the trophy. Moreover, he would have a fantastic chance to do so this year with a strong Brazil National team who are the favorites to win it all.

“I need to hang out with it and touch it and caress it because the trophy has to make its way to me. That’s what I want — the trophy in my hands. That’s the ultimate goal,” the Brazilian added.
