FC Barcelona is one of the biggest clubs in the world, but they have fallen a long way from the heights of their glorious past. They have been struggling a lot this season and their tumulous season finally seems to be heading towards a state of balance.

They started the season in the worst way possible as they lost their club captain and talisman, Lionel Messi, to Paris Saint Germain. Later, things got worse, as they had to sack their manager, Ronald Koeman, following a horrible start to the season, and appointed club legend Xavi to be their manager.

However, that didn’t work very well as Barca were knocked out of Spanish Super Cup, Copa Del Rey, and the UEFA Champions League as well. Now, they are trying to look at other players and invest in the squad to help them get back on the right track.

Barca’s troublesome financial issues

The club lost Messi due to their financial issues, and at one point, had a debt of over a billion dollars. Their old president had left the club in a financial mess and the new president, Joan Laporta, is trying to steady the ship by making some financially sound deals.

One of those deals is going to be getting a new sponsor as Barcelona are looking to sign a five-year deal with music industry giants Spotify, which will see them bag a hefty £285 Million. Spotify will be their shirt sponsors and Barca will try to invest the money back in the club to finance their latest transfer targets.

However, another player they have managed to sign is Wolverhampton Wanderers winger, Adama Traore. Traore was in the La Masia academy and played for the senior team a few times. While Xavi would appreciate a good new winger, how effective do you think Traore will be to Barca?
