Things aren’t going well for Lionel Messi right now. The Argentinian forward won his 7th Ballon d’Or merely months ago, and the season had a lot of promises in it for him. However, it all came crashing down in the UCL this week.

PSG lost against Real Madrid in their Round-of-16 tie after a defensive meltdown that gifted their opposition three goals. Kylian Mbappe scored both of the goals for PSG, but his contributions weren’t enough in the end. Messi was practically absent while Neymar did get the assists for both of Mbappe’s goals.

As a result, PSG fans weren’t pleased with their star forwards and decided to boo Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr every time they touched the ball in their league match against Bordeaux. Even though PSG won the match in the end, the booing didn’t stop, and Neymar’s goal didn’t change that either.

The fans spared Kylian Mbappe as he has been their best player this season by a mile. Several people did come out to stand up for Messi and Neymar. One of them was Atletico Madrid’s star forward Luis Suarez.
