Cristiano Ronaldo forced a late move in the transfer window to Manchester United, leaving Juventus with a mere 3 days to fill the massive gap to fill. As crazy as the transfer window was this summer, the Turin-based club could not muster a high-profile name as the replacement for the ex-Real Madrid talisman. By deadline day, they could only complete the signing of the young and highly talented Italian forward, Moise Kean.

Juventus over the past two years has made an emphasis on signing young talents with huge potential. Moreover, they haven’t shied away from spending big on such youngsters. Be it the signing of Federico Chiesa for 60 million euros or Locatelli for 35 million euros, the Old Lady spends money when required. Speaking of young talents, Erling Haaland is shaping up to be one of the top players in the sport, and accordingly, has many suitors.

It is no secret that Juventus were very close to signing Haaland before his move to RB Salzburg. When quipped about that, Cherubini said, “Haaland is a regret for Juventus. We wanted him years ago but he wasn’t attracted by potential loan.” Responding to the question of whether Juve will be interested in buying Haaland next summer, he replied, “Buy Haaland now? We’re going to look for players like Erling before maturing – even if I wouldn’t want to preclude anything”

Clearly, Juventus are focusing on youth for the coming future, and so far, it has worked well for them.
