Being the best player of all time is a huge responsibility for any person. However, very few players are able to handle it as well as Paris Saint Germain forward, Lionel Messi has done. He has been among the best players on the planet for over 16 years now.

The Argentinian forward won his record-extending seventh Ballon d’Or in 2021, and while things haven’t looked the same for him, he’s not a bad player by any means. His season for PSG has been a total bust with the club in contention for the Ligue 1 title and nothing else, but Messi can still win it all with Argentina.

Lionel Messi hints at retirement after the World Cup

Argentina is gearing up for the World Cup in Qatar at the end of 2022, and have a good team right now. They beat Venezuela in their World Cup Qualifiers match by a score of 3-0, with goals from PSG duo Messi and Angel di Maria. Nicolas Gonzalez got the third goal.

It was a great performance from the nation and they have now surely qualified for the world cup along with Brazil. After the match, Lionel Messi made a statement that might strike fear in a lot of Argentinian hearts. He mentioned that he would rethink a lot of things after the World Cup.

Messi’s retirement from international football in 2016
