The world of football is in for a tough few years ahead, as several legends of the game might hang up their boots. Players like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the most high-profile ones towards the end of their careers, but Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez is another one.

The Atletico Madrid star is 35 now and is undoubtedly in the swansong of his career. His contract with Atletico expired and any club looking to sign him will get an excellent forward on their hands for absolutely free. It’ll be interesting to see where he’ll end up in the future.

Currently, the biggest revelation to come out of the transfer market is that Inter Miami is mounting a serious challenge to sign Suarez. David Beckham’s side wants to get their hands on the former Liverpool and FC Barcelona forward at all costs.
Moreover, the Argentinian club River Plate is also interested to sign him, but they don’t hold the financial might that Miami has. However, Suarez has a connection with the South American club and it might hold some romantic value for the striker.
According to a report from ESPN, a new club has entered the fray. Serie A club Atalanta is interested in taking the superstar on their books. Moreover, Suarez would prefer to stay in Europe and might prefer a move to Italy rather than the USA or Argentina.
Suarez and his form for Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona
Luis Suarez played 35 games in La Liga this season, scoring 13 goals and getting 3 assists for his efforts. In total, he ended his Atletico Madrid career with an impressive 34 goals and 16 assists.
It’s nowhere close to the numbers he put up for FC Barcelona when he was part of the best front three of all time, the MSN.
Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Neymar Jr were the three forwards in this front three and helped Barca win the treble in 2015. Suarez managed to score 194 goals and added 113 assists for FC Barcelona during his 281 games for the club.
