Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp Frustrated by Manchester City, Chelsea ‘Finding a Solution’ to Financial Fair Play

The Premier League has some of the biggest clubs across all of Europe. With the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool blowing past other top European clubs, the quality of these top teams is sky high.

But having the best teams in Europe comes at a huge cost. Be it superstar big money signings like Jack Grealish or Romelu Lukaku or United signing Jadon Sancho, clubs like Chelsea, City and United have been rampant in the transfer window.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp criticizes City for finding a way across FFP

The English Premier League has seen a massive increase in its spending over the years. Especially members from the traditional top 6 have been pretty much ruthless in their spending.

Despite the rules of Financial Fair Play, the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and United have all spent over a €100 million this window. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was certainly not impressed with the same.

“We all know the situation of Chelsea. And we all know the situation of City. And we all know the situation of of PSG, for example, but United’s doing I don’t know. I don’t know exactly how they do it. But we have obviously our way to do it.”

He added, “That’s what was always the same since I’m in it was always the same be can spend and we are allowed to spend the money we earn. And that’s what we always did….. I’m never surprised about the financial power of Chelsea or city or united. I’m long enough in the country to know that they always find a solution to do these kinds of things.”

Liverpool certainly have been pretty stringent in their signings. After splashing the cash on the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Alison Becker, Liverpool haven’t spent big money on any other signing.

Unlike their contemporaries, Liverpool have resorted to smart and cost effective signings like Ibrahima Konate and Naby Keita instead. The Reds certainly are showing that a team can dominate with smart and intelligent signings not necessarily big money moves.

With their core of players like Van Dijk and Diogo Jota returning from injuries, Liverpool will hope that their players can step up. Will the Reds challenge City for the Premier League crown this season?
