Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford received his first England call up for September’s international break. This came off the back of his fine form in the Premier League. The English forward has faced a lot of flak for his personality on social media, and this is a huge accomplishment for him.

Bamford talked about it all in his first interview as an England player and revealed why people had their  misconceptions about his personality. When a reporter asked him if it was a prejudice against him, Bamford revealed that his upbringing had a big part to play in it.

However, he also acknowledged that it’s not really a big struggle for him. Bamford won’t complain about it as other people have harder battles to fight.

But I think that goes for a lot of things and I think people have harder battle to fight, and I’m not going to complain about that,” Bamford revealed.
