“Pick His Words Very Carefully”: FIFA Qatar World Cup CEO Sends a Message to England Manager After Comments on Country

Gareth Southgate is going to manage England in a FIFA World Cup for the second time.

But the England national football team manager has raised concerns about Qatar’s suitability to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Earlier, Southgate has expressed concerns about the working conditions of the workers and the safety of their traveling English fans during the FIFA World Cup later this year.

Recently, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 CEO Nasser Al Khater gave his response to Gareth Southgate’s concerns. He claimed the England national football team manager got to “pick his words very carefully”.

During an interview with Sky Sports, Nasser Al Qatar said, “Somebody with a lot of influence, such as Southgate, somebody with a big audience that listens to what he says, ought to pick his words very carefully.”

“I think that before making statements like that, when it comes to the workers, he needs to come here and speak to workers and understand what workers get out of being here,” he added.

How has Gareth Southgate done so far with England in major competitions, including the FIFA World Cup 2018?

Gareth Southgate has a pretty good winning percentage with the England national football team. However, he has failed to win any major competition with England.

But not to forget, he has taken them to the closing stages of big tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup. The former Middlesbrough manager had a great spell in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Coming to the UEFA Euro 2020, Gareth Southgate took England to the final. But he failed to cross the last hurdle in winning the UEFA European Championships.
