The Portugal National Football Team is one step away from booking their place at this year’s FIFA World Cup. Cristiano Ronaldo & co. will play North Macedonia in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying play-off finals.

Portugal are definitely the favorite going into this contest. But North Macedonia has already shocked everyone by eliminating Italy in the earlier round.

Thus, it is going to be a tricky test for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, and Diogo Jota.

Ahead of the match, Portugal’s captain Cristiano Ronaldo made a huge statement during a press conference. He said, “There is no World Cup without Portugal. Here there are no individuals. We are a group.”

“Tomorrow is a final and we are ready. Favorites?. I always consider myself favorite, whether [playing] at home or away,” CR7 added.

Further, he also talked about Portugal’s opponent, North Macedonia. Ronaldo believes North Macedonia won’t be able to surprise them as they surprised Italy and others.

The Manchester United forward claimed, “They have surprised [opponents] in many games, but I believe that tomorrow they will not surprise us. Portugal will be better and we will go to the World Cup.” [H/T: ESPN]

This is indeed a very crucial game for the Portugal National Football Team. After failing to qualify straight after the FIFA World Cup qualifiers group stage campaign, they can’t let go of this opportunity.
