Kylian Mbappe set to request transfer to Real Madrid

Real’s interest on Mbappe has been an open secret. While the Spanish giants have been heavily linked to the French man for quite some time, PSG have been pretty reluctant. But with the Ligue 1 juggernauts bringing in Lionel Messi, Real’s chances of landing Mbappe have increased significantly.

The 22-year-old who has reportedly turned down a six-year contract extension, might be on his way out of PSG this transfer window. According to Spanish outlet El Chiringuito’s Josep Pedrerol, Mbappe is set to hand over a transfer request to PSG for a potential transfer to the Spanish capital.

These rumors have further been fuelled by the recent photographs from Ander Herrera’s birthday party. While the Spaniard celebrated his 32nd birthday, most PSG players were present at the party. But the notable absentee in the same was Mbappe.

Despite the addition of Lionel Messi to the side, Mbappe has reportedly set his eyes on Madrid. This is certainly big news for the record European champions.

While Karim Benzema has stepped up to take the goal scoring burden for Real, other attackers have failed to chip in consistently. Mbappe’s arrival might be the boost that Madrid have been lacking for the last three seasons. Not only is the Frenchman already a prolific scorer, he still has a lot of room to grow.

A potential transfer might require an astronomical fee but considering how Mbappe has stepped up in the biggest events of football, there is no doubting the star quality he will add to the 13-time Champions League winners. Do you think Madrid will pull the trigger on a potential move for the French prodigy or will they wait for Mbappe’s contract expiry?
