Very few players impact the world of football like Brazilian star, Neymar Jr has. While the forward won’t be remembered as one of the greatest players of all time, he is certainly one of the most entertaining ones.

However, his impact on the game goes far beyond his skills on the pitch. It was Neymar’s transfer from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint Germain, which changed the transfer market forever. The 222 million euro fee that PSG paid for him obliterated the world record for the fee paid for any single player.

But ever since then, the forward hasn’t really justified that fee by any means. He was signed so that he could deliver the UEFA Champions League trophy in Paris, but that has failed to happen once again. PSG were knocked out of the UCL by Real Madrid in the Round-of-16 this week.

Paris Saint Germain are looking to offload their record signing

It’s another failure for the club, and people are looking at the players who were at fault. It was PSG’s defense that led them down the most, as they practically gifted away three goals to Karim Benzema. However, their attack didn’t work either, as both Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr were pretty much invisible in that decisive second half.

Now, according to new reports, PSG’s owners are now looking to sell the Brazilian winger. His displays have been nothing like the ones a player of his price tag should put in, and the club has a strained relationship with his father too.

Where will Neymar Jr go if he leaves PSG?

While this is all purely hypothetical right now, Neymar doesn’t really have a lot of options available. Other than Manchester United, no Premier League club pays the kind of wages that the Brazilian demands. But that being said, even United might break the bank to sign a 30-year-old winger not displaying his heroics anymore.

A move back to FC Barcelona won’t materialize because of their financial struggles. Neymar has said that he would like to play in the MLS in the future, but that seems to be much later in his career. As a result, he doesn’t really have any real options for the future.
